OWEN OLSON NAMED NSIC SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

ABERDEEN, SD - Northern State senior kicker Owen Olson (Denver, Colo.) was honored as the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference special teams player of the week for his performance in NSU’s 57-6 win over St. Mary (Kan.) on Saturday.

Olson, a 5-11, 185-pound, senior, kicked three field goals, including a career high 42-yarder and added six PATs in Saturday’s victory. Olson is currently NSU’s second-leading scorer with a perfect 4-for-4 field goal mark and nine PATs on the season.

This marks the fourth time in his career that Olson has earned the NSIC’s special teams player of the week honors receiving the award three times in his junior campaign.

Northern State (2-0) will travel to face nationally ranked St. Cloud State on Saturday in a 1 p.m. kickoff.
