Banking and Financial Services
Banking and financial services is one of Northern's newest majors, created to reflect the growing demand for financial services professionals.
The major prepares NSU students for careers in all branches of the financial industry, such as banking, insurance, credit unions and federal/state regulatory agencies. A banking and financial services degree from NSU prepares students for careers in money center and community banks, regulatory agencies or the insurance industry.
Financial services classes give the student a broad-based understanding of the domestic and international financial services business and preparing them for long-term careers as leaders in the industry. An internship with a bank or financial institution is required for the banking major, and helps prepare graduates for positions in the industry.
For graduates interested in taking their careers to the next level, the School of Business offers a Master's of Science in Banking and Financial Services. Click on the above right link under Academic Programs for information.
