Steven Usitalo is a specialist in Russian and Soviet history, the history of science, and the history of film. A recipient of several research grants, Dr. Usitalo has co-edited an anthology on Russian history and published a monograph on the Russian polymath Mikhail Lomonosov. At present his research focuses on Russian/Soviet and Armenian film.

Erin Fouberg is a political geographer with research interests in sovereignty and in geography education. She received the NSU Outstanding Faculty Award in 2011 and is director of the Northern State University Honors Program. Dr. Fouberg is co-author of two college geography textbooks published by John Wiley & Sons. Dr. Fouberg regularly teaches world regional geography, physical geography, political geography, geography of South Asia, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and human geography.

Ric Dias is a specialist in 20th-century U.S. history, concentrating on the American West. Dr. Dias is co-author of Hall-Scott: The Untold Story (SAE, 2007). He received NSU’s Outstanding Faculty Member Award in 1998, NSU’s Student Organization Advisor of the Year in 1998 and 2000, Outstanding Honors Faculty Member 2002 and 2004, and the Williams Faculty-Student Collaborative Research Award in 1998 and 2003. He is co-advisor to the NSU History Club.

David Grettler is a specialist in colonial and 19th-century U.S. history. He is also a historical archaeologist interested in social and environmental history. Dr. Grettler received NSU’s Outstanding Faculty Member Award in 1996, the NSU Honors Program Outstanding Teaching Award in 1999 & 2002, and NSU Student Organization Advisor of the Year in 2002. He is co-advisor to the NSU History Club.

Art Marmorstein is a specialist in ancient history and is currently conducting research on Christian, Jewish and Muslim apologetics. Dr. Marmorstein was the recipient of the CAS Outstanding Teaching Award in 2000. He is advisor to InterVarsity Christian Fellowship.

Dr. Seeber teaches courses in sociology, social work and gerontology, and directs the Gerontology Studies program at NSU. Dr. Waid- Lindberg has taught courses in introductory criminal justice, criminology, corrections, delinquency and juvenile justice, and advanced criminological theory. She has been involved in several funded, policy-oriented research projects. Her current research interests include historical perspectives of correctional practices, the culture of control, the subculture of the prison, school crime, issues in juvenile justice processing, punitive attitudes of the public, and the fear of crime.
