Steven A. Usitalo (Ph.D., McGill University) is a specialist in Russian and Soviet history and in the history of film. A recipient of several research grants (including a Fulbright grant), Dr. Usitalo co-edited an anthology on Russian history and published a monograph on the Russian polymath Mikhail Lomonosov. At present his research focuses on Soviet (specifically Georgian and Armenian) film, and on the Armenian Genocide.

Erin H. Fouberg is a broadly trained human geographer with a specialization in political geography. Dr. Fouberg teaches world regional geography, human geography, physical geography, political geography, the geography of Europe, and the geography of South Asia. Dr. Fouberg’s current research interests are in geography education and political culture. Dr. Fouberg authored “Human Geography: People, Place, and Culture” with Alexander B. Murphy and H.J. de Blij (John Wiley & Sons, 2012) and “Understanding World Regional Geography” with William Moseley (John Wiley & Sons, forthcoming).

Ric Dias studies 20th century American history, particularly the American West. Dr. Dias teaches introductory American History classes and upper level courses in the American West, the Vietnam War, the Cold War, and the 1960s. Dr. Dias published a book on Hall-Scott, a small engineering firm and the strategies it used to remain competitive in an industry dominated by much larger firms. His current research project revisits his doctoral dissertation on the West Coast-based Kaiser Steel Corporation and focus on its changing relationship with the federal government.

David Grettler is a historian and archaeologist specializing in early American history. Dr. Grettler teaches courses in Colonial America, Revolutionary America, and Antebellum America and the Civil War. He also teaches classes in environmental history, public history, and world regional geography. His current research interests are early American environmental history and 19th century American agriculture.

Art Marmorstein has been teaching introductory Western Civilization classes and upper level courses in ancient history at Northern State University since 1988. Dr. Marmorstein also supervises the social sciences methods class and serves as advisor to InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Dr. Marmorstein’s research is in early Church history.
