Read what alumni have to say about NSU

Most professional schools (dentistry, optometry, etc.) accept students who major a variety of fields.  Regardless of major, however, a strong science and math background and a high score on the appropriate admission's test increase the probability of acceptance into the professional school of choice. You can get that strong training in science and math at NSU!   Our alumni often say that they were more prepared than many of their colleagues attending professional schools.   Faculty members in Biology and Chemistry teach their own labs, and upper-level class enrollments are limited to 20-24 students.  In addition, faculty members meet with every one of their advisees individually each semester.  Thus, students are able to get to know their professors well.

Most students wishing to enter the medical field major in Biology or Chemistry.  There are also a few specific pre-professional programs set up that you can declare as a major at NSU:

1)  Pre-nursing

2) Pre-Chiropractic

3)  Pre-Mortuary Science

NSU students have gone on to become M.D.'s, and P.A's.  Click here for more information on pre-med
