History Club Meeting

Fall 2002 Second Officers’ Meeting Commences: 5:08 p.m.

· History Club T-Shirt
· Emperors’ club design
· Faculty depictions
· Marmorstein – toga
· Grettler – Montezuma
· Dias – Nazi
· King – King George?  Emperor of India
· Bartusis – Russian emperor {tsar} with funny hat and big mustache?
· Liz will talk to Jake Bosmoe and let us know if he is available to do the artwork
· We will take orders over Christmas break for the t-shirts

· Minutes will be available on the web page after Professor Dias sets it up with Tanya Stultc

· Malene will give a disk with the minutes to Professor Dias so he can load them on the page and then return the disk for next time

· Possible History Club activities
· Trip to Dacotah Prairie Museum
· Sponsor people to come to campus and talk about history majors in jobs (teachers, superintendents, etc.)
· Trip to Pierre in February

· Suggestions to increase numbers of club members
· Incentives for faculty to boost retention
· Presentation at orientation
· Talk to IDL class about History Club
· Reverse trick-or-treating
· Scott’s girlfriend will make up address labels with History Club meeting information
· Put the address labels on fun-size candy bars
· January 16, 2003: officers, Professor Dias, and Dr. Grettler go to new history majors/ minors rooms to reverse trick-or-treat (pass out candy with history club information) and introduce ourselves

· Next History Club meeting set for Wednesday, December 11th at 7 p.m. in the Newman center
· Professor Dias will contact Father Larry to make sure this is feasible
· Professor Dias will send out flyers and advertise in the What’s Up
· Scott will send out an email
· Scott will contact Shanna Dahl to see if we can use the WWII Jeopardy game she created
