Hello!  My name is Lauren Kessler and it is my third year being a peer minister.  I am a senior music education major from Jamestown, North Dakota.  I have been involved with CICS since my freshman year here at Northern.  It is such a great, welcoming community.  In CICS I get to spend time with wonderful people I would have otherwise never met.  It also really refreshes my faith which can be difficult during the busyness and change of college.  In CICS I know that there are people who care and are always willing to be a friend.  We are always ready for new faces to join us for our Wednesday night Bible studies and fellowship.  All are welcome!

Hi everyone! My name is Sadie Buum and I am a senior here at Northern. I hail from a little teeny town south of Sioux Falls - the wonderful town of Alcester. My major is elementary education with a reading minor and also a kindergarten endorsement. I became a part of CICS when I was a freshman, and since then have loved every single minute of it! When I first came to NSU, I was so worried about making new friends, and wondering how this unfamiliar city could ever be my home-away-from-home. Well, you don't have to worry about that when you're involved with CICS.......These people become a part of your family (and Rhonda certainly fits the bill for being a second mom!). Be prepared to laugh and have a super time, all the while learning and growing in your faith. Come join us! We hope to see you soon!

My name is Dan Urbanec and I went to High School in Bismarck, ND. When I first came to college I went to Northern to become a teacher. Halfway through I decided that I wanted to do nursing. I could not leave my best friends behind and it just so happens that Presentation College offers nursing, so it all worked out for the best! I first came to CICS my second year of college because I wanted to be apart of something with my friends. The first meeting I went to I loved because everyone welcomed me with open arms and I felt truly a part of something. I haven't missed a CICS since then. CICS has strengthened my faith so much, it is hard to go through school not having a support system. I have learned a lot about myself in CICS because of all the Volunteer work that we do, helping people not only strengthens us, but also the world that we live in. I hope to see new faces this year!! And remember that college is a hard battle ground to fight on but you're never alone!

Hello, my name is Dan Burrer I am a senior here at Northern.  I’m originally from Sauk Centre, Minnesota. I’ve ended up at NSU because I’m majoring in Elementary Education.  As you have figured out I’m also one of the peer ministers for CICS.  I would also like to take this opportunity to invite you to get actively involved with campus ministries.  It is a great, fun, and enjoyable way to meet students from all over the place.  It is never to late to get involved if for some reason you haven’t come in the past, but are now interested I urge you to check it out at least once.  And if you are a freshman I would also really like to invite you to attend at least one of our events you may just find out you really like it.  Hope to see you there.

My name is Matt Scott and I am a junior here at NSU.  I am from Spiritwood, North Dakota, where I grew up on a farm.  I am a history major with a sociology and a religious minor.  I hope to go to seminary after college to become a pastor.  I got involved with CICS as a freshman and have found that it is a very open environment and I have always felt welcome there.  CICS is a fun group of people that enjoy getting together to study, learn, and share opinions about various topics related to God, community, and what ever else is on our minds.  It is very easy to slip away from your beliefs in college.  CICS is a great way to keep your foundation of faith and to meet with other people that have that same common interest.  Come and join us.  All are welcome!!!
