Colleague Student Information System
Northern State University, together with the
other state institutions of higher education in
South Dakota, implemented Datatel’s Colleague in
the Summer, 1998. The first modules included
Course Catalog, Course Sections, Admissions,
Registration, Student Records, Account
Receivable, Residence Life, and Financial
Assistance.
The Activities and Degree Audit modules was
implemented during 1999/2000 academic year. Web
Access began in Spring, 2001. Students and
faculty are issued a pin number to use with
their Colleague id number to access their
information.
Currently, students use Web advisor to register
for classes, add or drop classes, view their
restrictions, class schedules, grades, program
evaluations, account summary and their profile
information. They also use Web Advisor to apply
for graduation. In the future, students will be
able to requests transcripts and pay their bills
electronically.
Faculty use Web Advisor to view their class
rosterss, their advisees, find class sections
and view program evaluations for their advisees.
E-advising will be added in the future.
By submitting a request via Web Advisor and
supplying the required information for security
purposes, the login and password information
will be emailed to students and faculty.
