Knowledge of the Learner focuses on an understanding of the growth and development of learners in the contexts in which development takes place and an understanding of how student diversity "interacts with" the learning process.

The digitized video clip is from a distance learning presentation my Health 420 students and I did as a part of the national "Kick Butts Day" activities that are designed to prevent young people from smoking.  The students we presented to via distance were 6th graders from Waubay School in Waubay, SD.  Many of the students in this school are American Indian students so this also offered an opportunity for my students to work with a diverse classroom.
