In September 2005, I was contacted by Gwen Peterson of the Bonanzaville Museum in North Dakota. A skilled mechanic and collector, Ronald Noecker had passed away, leaving his beautifully rebuilt 1962 Hall-Scott 6182FE to them, but they couldn't keep it. Would I want it? 'HUH? Do I want it?' Shown below in this column is Gwen's dad delivering the 6182 to my house on a sturdy trailer Mr. Noecker made for the engine (with accommodation for a V-12 he wanted to add later!), the engine being backed up (ably helped by Steve Rasmussen), the two (or three?) Peterson's, and finally me weeping with joy. |
The engine was mine, but the executor of the Noecker estate needed that trailer back, so off came the 6182 a few days after delivery. Shown below in this column are my very helpful neighbors, Tim Swisher, who supplied the boom truck, and Darcy Schock, who once again provided the brawn. I wisely stayed out of the way, taking pictures. The engine supports Mr. Noecker made for trailer worked great as lift points for the move. As Darcy likes to say - easy deal! Lastly, a picture of Tim, Darcy and neighborhood kids. Everybody loves a Hall-Scott! |
