DISTANCE EDUCATION GENERAL INFORMATION

Distance education offerings from NSU include high school courses available through the Center for Statewide E-learning, synchronous undergraduate and graduate level university classes listed each semester in Web Advisor or the Electronic University Consortium, and asynchronous Internet and correspondence courses available from the Office of Extended Studies throughout the year. NSU can deliver online Internet courses, DDN live teleconference courses, live Internet streaming connections and combinations of these and other technologies.

Policies, costs, registration times and other procedures may vary depending on course type (asynchronous or synchronous), course level (high school, undergraduate or graduate) and mode of delivery, so please be careful to refer to the policy appropriate for the course.

Distance education is not for everyone. Successful completion of a distance course requires some technical skills, self-discipline, good time management and self-motivation. Take this survey to assess your readiness, computer skills and learning preferences for distance education.
