| MIS 423/523. Server Construction and Configuration. The goal of this course is to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to understand microcomputer architecture and system administration. The introduction to computer architecture will include hands-on experiences in the areas of hardware assembly, system software installation and configuration. The course will cover configuration of Windows 2000 file server, Web Server, Mail Server, and Application Server. Included will be system installation, halting and booting the system, file systems and file and directory permission structures, device configuration and management including RAID arrays, user account administration, domain services, DNS, data organization and access optimization, and remote management. 3 credits |
