TIMELINE

September:

  • Counselor should contact the College Board (apexams@info.collegeboard.org  or 888-CALL-4-AP, Extension 1) about administering the AP test in May.
  • Counselor should get the test date on the school calendar to assure that other activities will not interfere with testing.
  • When registering:
    • the name of the NSU Master Teacher should be listed as the class teacher, and
    • the NSU Center for Statewide E-learning should be listed as the course provider.

November:

  • Deadline for schools to return AP Participation Forms and Teacher Listings to the College Board.

December:

·         Counselor should have finalized arrangements for administering the AP tests next May and confirm that arrangements have been made with NSU instructor.

March:

April (about the 15th):

  • Last day to change number of tests with the College Board. (NOTE: A penalty is assessed to the school for tests ordered and not used.)

May:

  • Administer the AP test on the assigned date and at the designated time, taking special care to follow all procedures exactly so as not to jeopardize the results or the school’s chances of administering the test in upcoming years.
  • NOTE: The counselor must secure a place in the school where the students can test for approximately four hours with no bells and no interruptions.

July:

  • Schools will receive scores mid-month. Please forward a copy to NSU promptly by faxing to 1-800-551-1376.

August:

  • If your school had five or more students who took the subject exam, you will be receiving a Report to AP Teachers – please forward it to the Master Teacher of the AP course at the NSU Center for Statewide E-learning.

Late Registration

  • To order AP test after the deadlines, go to College Board Web site (www.collegeboard.com).
  • Late registration is allowed for an extra fee, unless extenuating circumstances.
  • Makeup exams are generally same length and format as original but more difficult, which seems to be taken into account with the scoring.
  • Results should take approximately same amount of time or a little more to receive.
