M.S. Program Requirements

E-learning Graduate Program Entrance Requirements

Candidates to the program must have completed the baccalaureate degree or plan to complete it during the semester when the application is completed. The intermediate level of computer technology/graphic skills is required; those with insufficient skills can be accepted but may have to take some undergraduate computer courses. All candidates must comply with requirements of the NSU Graduate School that include the following:

1.Grade, only one of options (a), (b) or (c) must be met:
a) Cumulative GPA from undergraduate school of 2.75 or better
b) Major courses GPA of 3.25 or better
c) Graduate Record Examination (GRE) of 800 with 2.5 for
analytical writing.

2.For foreign students the proven proficiency in English language is
required (for details see Graduate School admission page).
Foreign students who were enrolled at NSU two years prior to
application for at least one semester of undergraduate courses at
NSU and obtained grades of “B” or better might be accepted to
the program without a formal requirement of the language
 proficiency examination.

The competitive admission deadline is April 10. Applications submitted after this date might be admitted to the program only if some slots are still available for the following academic year. Acceptance to the program does not automatically assign the Graduate Assistantship; the application deadline for graduate assistantship is April 10 (see the corresponding page for details).

Candidates to the program, who at the time of their application did not have a baccalaureate degree completed, might be granted conditional admission and might receive conditional approval of their Graduate Assistantship pending obtaining their B.S. degree. However, to remove conditional admission/GA status, all necessary documents must be received no later than July 6 of the current academic year. If required documents are not received by this date, the candidate may not be admitted to the program and a previously given assistantship might be assigned to other applicants who at this time have completed all required documents.

The Master of Science degree can be completed within two years and is designed to be highly flexible with elective courses comprising more than 25% of the program.
