The 48th annual South Dakota Jazz Festival Concert will be held on Thursday, Jan. 18, featuring guest performers “The Hornheads.” 

“The Hornheads” of Minneapolis, Minn., will serve as guest performers at the festival, which will culminate in an evening performance at 7:30 p.m. in the NSU JFAC Harvey and Cynthia Jewett Theater.

The fourth annual Lamont-Rhodes Lecture Series presents Eric Snodgrass, director of atmospheric sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign,  7:30-10 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, in the NSU Johnson Fine Arts Center. A breakfast buffet will take place at 7:30 a.m., with the presentation at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $20/person or $125/group of eight. On Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, the Northern State University Admissions Office will be hosting a Howling Trivia Night for high school juniors and seniors in the area. The event will be from 7-9 p.m. in the Student Center on the Northern campus. All high school juniors and seniors are welcome, and teams of four-five students can RSVP their team list to wolvestrivia@gmail.com up until noon on Nov. 16.

Northern State University will hold a community forum to discuss the university’s campus master plan. The forum, which is open to the public, will be held at the South Dakota School for the Blind and Visually Impaired on the following date:

NSU Theater presents The Hunchback of Notre Dame at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 18-21 in the Johnson Fine Arts Center Harvey and Cynthia Jewett Theater. Based on the Victor Hugo novel and songs from the beloved Disney animated feature, The Hunchback of Notre Dame showcases the Oscar-nominated score as well as new songs by Menken and Stephen Schwartz.
