Northern State University will host "Cancer and Chronic Disease: How to Take Control," sponsored by Avera Health. This free, educational event is open to all and will take place 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, in the Johnson Fine Arts Center. Keynote speaker will be Dr. Brian Leyland-Jones, who specializes in genomic medicine at the Avera Cancer Institute Center for Precision Oncology. Also speaking at the event will be Dr. Andrew Russell, assistant professor of biology at NSU, and Megan Jacobson, South Dakota State University Extension nutrition field specialist.
