More than 150 middle and high school students from northeastern South Dakota will be on the Northern State University campus on March 15 for the National History Day regional competition. A total of 159 students from seven schools will present 105 research projects as part of the competition, which will run from 8 a.m. to noon in the NSU Student Center and Missouri River Room. This year’s theme is “Taking a Stand in History.” Students competing at Northern will come from Summit Middle School and High School, Sioux Valley High School, Waubay High School, Britton-Hecla Middle School, Waverly-South Shore High School, and Willow Lake High School.
