The
Gore world of make-believe
Before I begin my usual witty banter about the bumbles
of the Democratic party and Earth-Tones Al, I would
like to point out something that happened to me the
other day at a local watering hole. A nice bunch of
fellows approached me as I was working and posed a question
to me, “Are you that Republican guy in the paper?” (Read

major. People expect my grammar and usage to be flawless,
a very lofty expectation considering the mistake in
word use that occurred in my last column. (If you didn’t
notice, I’m not telling you.) I am also expected to
be a teacher after graduation, whereas I am certain
that teachers are very special people, and I am not
nearly special enough to be one. (Read
