Grafing crowned NSU Snow Queen; Outback performs
The 2001 Sno-Sho, “Awakening to Winter,” crowned Angella Grafing the 2001 Miss NSU Sno Queen. Grafing is from Aberdeen and sponsored by Northern Highlights. The Sno-Sho was held December 7 in the Johnson Fine Arts Center. (Full Story)

Performers Bari Koral and Ari Hest, two nationally renowned musicians, will be performing for free at NSU. Bari Koral a has established an impressive fan base in the New York area and beyond. A soulful combination of smart pop hooks and sassy lyrics, her self-titled EP has had over 3000 independent sales. She has just released her new second independent effort, “Joy”. (Full Story)

It is a new year and there is soon to be a new administration running the country. Just recently, an ironic twist of fate occurred when Al Gore was forced to count the electoral votes which booted him and his buddy out of office. My New Year's Resolutions
This New Year/, I am having an odd time. It's not bad, per se, but it's been better. Because of the crazy way life works sometimes, I am sitting almost alone (Isabella is sleeping.) in my apartment, listening to ol'Blue Eyes, (Young at Heart) drinking a low-range champagne, (Korbel) smoking a low-range cigar (Teamo). NSU wrestling heads back to the mats
The Northern State University wrestlers are back in action after the Christmas break. On Wed. Jan. 10 the Wolves hosted the Augustana College Vikings. In a close race for points, the Wolves were edged out by five points, losing the dual 27-25. (Full Story)

Indoor track jumpstarts season
The men’s and women’s indoor track season started a their new season in January. Head Coach Jim Fuller has high expectations for the team. “We have been very pleased with the fall conditioning period and especially happy with the gains made in the weight room,” he said. “That will lead to a productive season.” (Full Story)

Women's basketball thrives over break, post 4-1 record
The Northern State University’s women’s basketball team had a successful Christmas break, defeating three out of four opponents. On Dec. 29, the Wolves traveled to University of Minnesota State-Moorhead and the following night went on to the University of Minnesota-Crookston. NSU defeated both teams, 72-69 and 91-79 respectively. (Full Story)

Men continue to develop; add three wins and two losses to record over holiday
The Northern State University mens basketball team went 3-2 over Christmas vacation. They lost 66-64 to the University of North Dakota on Dec. 17. Victorious with back-to-back wins on Dec. 29 and 30 over Minnesota State Moorhead and Minnesota State Crookston. The Wolves had a 75-63 win over Moorhead and a 66-63 win over Crookston. Starting the new year off with a 79-67 loss at home on Jan. 5 with Minnesota-Duluth was enough to drive the Wolves to a 90-78 victory over Bemidji State the following night. (Full Story)

After a busy night of fun, most college students tend to get the munchies. A run to the Millstone was the only option I had until recently. Then a story of good food in large proportions came to my attention in the form of Sammy's Restaurant and Omelette Shop. (Full Story)
