hall-of-famer speaks in Aberdeen
After braving a fierce blizzard that hammered most of
the state of South Dakota, and being forced to catch
a frightening ride in a small plane, flown by a member
of the Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce, Major League Baseball
Hall of Famer Sparky Anderson, arrived to be the featured
speaker at the Aberdeen Chamber’s 116th annual banquet.

symphonic band goes on tour
The Northern State University symphonic band has several
important performances over the next few weeks. The
band was invited to perform as the finale act at the
65th Annual South Dakota Bandmasters Convention that
was held in Brookings on Saturday, Feb. 10.

The
Toilet Truth
I have been able to experience many different things
in my career here at Northern State University. I fell
in love and got my heart broken. I finally figured out
the purpose of my life was not in a man. I learned that

impressed the home crowds over the “I Hate Winter” weekend,
racking up two very impressive victories over the University

shine at conference tournament
The Wolves had an impressive showing, in front of a
home crowd, at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference
(NSIC) tournament. NSU had five out of eleven team members
compete in the finals round, while five others competed

basketball goes 7-5 in NSIC
Playing at home on Feb. 2 and 3, visitors from the University
of Minnesota-Crookston and the University of Minnesota-Moorhead
were dealt one loss each from Northern State University’s

Tracksters
lose to Jamestown
On Feb. 6, Northern State University’s Track and Field
team suffered a defeat to Jamestown College by only
a few points. The women’s division trailed by one point,
69-68 leaving Jamestown with a win. Jamestown earned
five team points by finishing the first event in 2.3
seconds. Jamestown also took a win in the Men’s division,
NSU trailed by 13 points, 86-73. (Full
