New glass-top computers cause mixed reactions

NSU students secures $13,400 grant for tobacco education
Last year Jason "Bud" Lemke wrote a grant application to the South Dakota Tobacco Control Program which is run under the South Dakota Department of Health. Lemke’s proposal resulted in Northern State University being rewarded with $13,400 in grant money to educate the Aberdeen community about tobacco. (Read Full Article)

benifit School of Education
Last October, the Institute for Rural Education and Community Development made a $419,000 stride to further the Northern State University School of Education's cause.(Read Full Article)

Reading Council promotes reading through Literature Alive
The Northern State University Reading Council hosted the second annual Literature Alive event at the Johnson Fine Arts Center Oct. 25. More than 15 NSU students donned costumes and acted out roles as characters from popular children's books for children from the Aberdeen area.(Read Full Article)

The Democrats are now starting to complain that the Republicans, who control the House and the Senate, are leaving them out in the bill-writing process. Soccer ends record-setting season
The Northern State University Wolves soccer team ended its season Nov. 4 when they suffered a 1-0 loss at the hands of Wayne State College in first round action of the NSIC Tournament. Wayne scored their first and only goal of the game with 28 seconds left in regulation.

Wolves wrestling opens season
The Northern State University wrestling team opened their 2003-2004 regular season Nov. 8, traveling to Brookings to take part in the Warren Williamson Daktronics Open. Two NSU wrestlers made their way into the finals and three other placed to pace the Wolves attack.

Cross country season closes
The Northern State University Cross Country season has come to an end. With the NSIC conference meet and North Central Regional meet, the cross country team wraps up their season and says good bye to seniors Delbert BlackBear, White River, and Kristin Peterson, Arlington. Men's soccer ends with a record of 7-7
The men's soccer team lost the last four out of five games they have played to finish up the season. They lost to South Dakota School of Mines and Technical School with a score of 3 to 1. Moorhead defeated them next with a final score of 5-0. NDSU then captured a win over the team 4-1. SDSU beat the Men's Soccer team 2-1. The team then ended on a win beating UMM 4-1.(Read Full Article)

Gallagher, Monson present senior recital
Eric Gallagher, Sisseton, and Stephanie Monson, Sandstone, Minn., presented a senior music recital at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2, in the Berggren Recital Hall of the Johnson Fine Arts Center on the NSU campus. The concert, which partially fulfills the requirements for a bachelor's degree in music, was free and open to the public.
