Change or Improvement of Career Grant

Sponsored by the First Congregational Church in Rapid City.  Applicants must be mature students returning to school to change or improve their education.  Must be able to complete a degree within 24 months.  Requires application, two letters of reference, transcript, and biographical statement.  Between 5 and 10 $750 scholarships to be awarded.

Aberdeen Lions Club Scholarship

Applicants must have non-correctable reduced vision that requires special accommodations and a 2.6 GPA.  Requires application, transcript and documentation of visual fields/acuity.  One $500 scholarship.

NSU Christian Service Scholarship

Applicants must have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior, be active in the church or youth activities, and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.  Requires application, statement, and letter of reference.  Number and size of awards vary.

Dakota Indian Foundation Scholarship

Applicants must be full-time Native American students who are at least of sophomore level.  Requires application, transcript, tribal registration, recommendation, and financial statement.  Number and amount of scholarships vary, not to exceed $1000 per award.

Doolittle Business Scholarship

Applicants must be sophomores or higher and graduates of Aberdeen Central High School, with priority going to business majors.  Requires application, transcript, and 3 letters of recommendation.  Scholarship is awarded specifically "to students who otherwise have difficulty obtaining financial aid because their family income or net assets are too high to qualify for scholarships based primarily on need."

Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship

Sponsored by the Aberdeen Zonta Club.  Applicants must be female juniors or seniors majoring in business.  Requires application, 2 letters of recommendation, transcript and essay.  Winners at the local club will be forwarded to district level, and each district will choose one applicant for entry at the international level, where six $5000 scholarships will be awarded.  www.zonta.org

Public Risk Management Association (PRIMA) Scholarship

Applicants must be majoring in Insurance, Risk Management, Occupational Safety, or similar studies.  Requires application, proof of enrollment, and a letter of reference.  One $500 scholarship to be awarded.

Richard Hagen-Minerva Harvey Memorial Scholarship

Marlin R. Scarborough Memorial Scholarship - applicant must be of junior standing in fall 2008 and have a 3.5 minimum GPA.  Requires application form and essay.  One $1000 award.  Deadline:  February 11, 2008

Haines Memorial Scholarship - applicants must be of sophomore standing or higher, majoring in teacher education, with a 2.5 GPA or higher.  Requires application, resume, and 2 typed statements.  One $2150 award.  Deadline:  February 15, 2008

Annis I. Fowler/Kaden Scholarship - applicant must be a first-time freshman in fall 2008, majoring in elementary education, with a 3.0 minimum GPA.  Requires application, essay, 2 letters of recommendation, transcript and ACT scores.  One $1000 award.  Deadline:  February 15, 2008

Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation Scholarships

James B. and Vera A. Sadler Undergraduate Scholarship - applicants must be of junior or senior status and have graduated from Washington High School in Sioux Falls, SD.  Award:  $4000  Deadline:  January 31, 2008

Jim and Pat Croston Family Scholarship - applicants must have graduated from a high school in Sioux Falls, SD, be majoring in education and entering their junior year.  Award:  $1000  Deadline:  January 31, 2008

Sioux Falls Area Retired Teachers Scholarship - applicants must be majoring in education and be junior level or higher.  Award:  $1000 (renewable)  Deadline:  January 31, 2008

American Chemical Society Scholars Program

Miss Black Hills Gold Scholarship Program

Dakota Corps Scholarship
