Richard Hagen-Minerva Harvey Memorial Scholarship

Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship

Marlin R. Scarborough Memorial Scholarship - applicant must be a junior undergraduate student for the 09-10 academic year who currently has a 3.5 GPA or higher.  Requires application and essay.  One $1000 scholarship.  Deadline:  February 20, 2009

Haines Memorial Scholarship - applicant must be enrolled in a teacher education program with a 2.5 GPA or higher and currently classified as a sophomore or above.  Requires application, resume, and 2 personal statements.  One $2150 scholarship.  Deadline:  February 28, 2009

Annis I. Fowler/Kaden Scholarship - applicant must be a new freshman for fall 2009 with a 3.0 high school GPA, planning to major in elementary education.  Requires application, essay, transcript, ACT's and 2 letters of recommendation.  $1000 scholarship.  Deadline:  February 28, 2009

South Dakota Retailers Association Jerry Wheeler Scholarship

Applicant must be enrolled, or planning to enroll, in a retail or business-related course of study, must be full-time, and must desire a career in a retail or business field.  Requires application, essay, transcript, and 2 letters of reference.  Number of awards vary, but in 2008, 26 scholarships ranging between $500-$1000 were awarded, for a total of $14,500.  www.sdra.org

NASA-MUST Scholarship

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration sponsors the Motivating Undergraduates in Science and Technology Program.  Applicants must be majoring in the fields of physical science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.  Must have a 3.0 GPA and underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.  Requires application, transcript, essay, resume, and letter of recommendation.  Renewable scholarship covers up to 1/2 of tuition and fees and a stipend to attend a 10-week summer internship program.  www.nasa.gov/education/must

Talbots Women's Scholarship Fund

South Dakota Opportunity Scholarship

Dakota Corps Scholarship

Four-year full tuition and fee scholarships for South Dakota high school seniors who plan to major in and then become employed in one of the following critical need occupations: music education, special education, math education, science education, foreign language education, nursing, or in other allied health care fields.  Requires composite ACT score of 24 or higher, student must have graduated from a South Dakota high school with a 2.8 GPA or higher, and recipients must agree to stay in South Dakota and work in their critical need occupation for as many years as the scholarship was received plus one year.  Apply at www.state.sd.us/dakotacorps/default.html
