Hawkinson Scholarship
Deadline: March 15, 2016
Summary: Applicants can be high school seniors, undergraduate, or graduate students. Requires application, essay, and transcript. Scholarships typically range from $1,000 to $5,000.

Doolittle Business Scholarship 
Deadline: May 1, 2016
Summary: Applicants must be graduates of Aberdeen Central High School who are majoring in business.  Requires application and three letters of recommendation. Scholarships range from $800 to $1,500.

Russ Keen Memorial Scholarship 
Deadline: May 1, 2016
Summary: Applicants must be graduates of Aberdeen Central High School who are majoring in communications or journalism. Requires application.


State Farm Good Neighbor Scholarship Program 
Deadline: March 2, 2016
Summary: Applicants must be high school seniors who demonstrate financial need and who have a 2.50 to 3.20 GPA on a 4.00 scale. Requires application, transcript, applicant appraisal, copy of parents’ 2014 taxes, and essay. Up to 50 $2,500 scholarships.


North Dakota Dollars for Scholars
Deadline: April 1, 2016
Summary: Applicants must be high school seniors or college students from North Dakota. Application materials vary based on each scholarship.  Scholarships vary from $500 to $2,500.

Annual Senior Care Scholarship
Deadline: April 15, 2016
Summary: Applicants must be interested in the fields of aging and gerontology and plan to pursue a career working with senior citizens. Requires application and essay. Five $1,000 scholarships.


MassMutual Scholars Program
Deadline: March 31, 2016
Summary: Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents who also are sophomores, juniors, or seniors during the 2016-2017 academic year. Applicants must also be interested in a career in the insurance and financial services industry. Requires application, transcript(s), and completed FAFSA.  Scholarships of $2,500 or $5,000 awarded.

Wells Fargo Veterans Scholarship Program 
Deadline: Feb. 29, 2016
Summary: Applicants must be honorably discharged veterans or spouses of disabled veterans. Requires application, applicant appraisal form, transcript, copy of DD214, and completed FAFSA. 

Wells Fargo Veterans Emergency Grant Program
Deadline: Grants are awarded on an ongoing basis until funds are exhausted
Summary: Applicants must be honorably discharged veterans or spouses of disabled veterans. Requires application, transcript, expense documentation, copy of DD214, and completed FAFSA. Emergency grants are available to eligible applicants who are enrolled in postsecondary education and experience unexpected financial difficulties that might cause them to drop out of school. Maximum grant award is $1,000.

Fallen Heroes Scholarship
Deadline: March 2, 2016
Summary: Applicants must be junior or senior South Dakota residents who are interested in South Dakota Corrections or Human Services field. Requires application and essay. One $500 scholarship.

Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships
Deadline: March 1, 2016
Summary: Applicants must be Pell Grant eligible students applying to or accepted into a study abroad program or internship that will last for at least four weeks. Requires application, transcripts, and application certification by study abroad and financial aid advisors. Scholarships are available for summer and fall/spring.  


Shopko Foundation Scholarships 
Deadline: March 1, 2016
Summary: Applicants must be full-time or part-time Shopko teammates or their dependent children.  Requires application, transcripts, and two recommendation letters.


National Association of Women in Construction Scholarship   
Deadline: Feb. 28, 2016
Summary: Applicants must be pursuing a major that will lead to a degree in a construction-related field.  Requires application, essay, and one reference letter. Two $1,000 scholarships and one $500 scholarship awarded.

SD Retailer’s Association Scholarships  
Deadline: April 18, 2016
Summary: Applicants must have completed at least one year of college by September 2016 and be enrolled in a retail-related major. Major examples include accounting, business management, and computer science. Requires application, transcript, two reference letters, and essay. Multiple scholarships awarded.


Sioux Falls Retired Teachers Association Scholarship
Deadline: March 15, 2016
Summary: Applicants must be education majors who will be juniors or seniors in the fall. Requires application, transcript, and two letters of recommendation.  One $1,500 scholarship.

Jim and Pat Croston Family Scholarship 
Deadline: March 15, 2016
Summary: Applicants must be graduates of a Sioux Falls, S.D., high school majoring in education.  Applicants must also be juniors or seniors in the fall. Requires application, transcript, and two letters of recommendation. One $1,000 scholarship. 


Spirit of Sioux Falls Scholarship
Deadline: July 1, 2016
Summary: Applicants must be business majors who maintain residency in Lincoln or Minnehaha counties.  Applicants must also have completed at least 1 year of undergraduate study. Requires application, transcript, and two letters of recommendation. Four $2,500 scholarships.

Northern Electric and Basin Electric Cooperative Scholarships
Deadline: Feb. 15, 2016
Summary: Applicants must be children of Basic Electric/Northern Electric consumers or employees.  Requires application, transcript, ACT scores, essay, and applicant appraisal. One $1,000 and one $500 scholarship. 

Soroptimist International of the Americas NCR Fellowship
Deadline: Feb. 17, 2016 
Summary: Applicants must be female students who are U.S. citizens pursuing a post graduate program.  Requires application, personal statement, and three letters of recommendation.  One $2,000 award.

 

 

South Dakota Board of Regents Scholarships


Ardell Bjugstad Scholarship
Deadline: Feb. 26, 2016
Summary: Applicants must be high school seniors and enrolled members of a federally recognized Indian tribe located in S.D. or N.D. Applicants also must plan to major in natural resources, agriculture or a related field. Requires application, two letters of recommendation, high school transcript, and verification of tribal enrollment. One $500 scholarship.

Haines Memorial Scholarship
Deadline: Feb. 26, 2016
Summary: Applicants must be sophomores, juniors, or seniors majoring in a teacher education program.  Requires application, resume, and essays. One $2,150 scholarship.

Annis Irene Fowler/Kaden Scholarship
Deadline: Feb. 26, 2016
Summary: Applicants must be first-time freshmen in the fall of 2016 intending to major in elementary education. Requires application, essay, two letters of recommendation, official high school transcript, and copy of ACT results. $1,000 scholarship.

Marlin R. Scarborough Memorial Scholarship 
Deadline: Feb. 18, 2016
Summary: Applicants must be juniors at their respective South Dakota public university during the 2016-2017 academic year. Requires application and essay. $1,500 scholarship.

Jump Start Scholarship
Deadline: Sept. 1
Summary: Applicants must be South Dakota residents who graduate from high school in 3 years or fewer. Guaranteed $1771.34 for one year.

South Dakota Opportunity Scholarship

Summary: Applicants must be South Dakota students who attended an eligible higher education institution in South Dakota. Requires composite ACT score of 24 or higher, a cumulative GPA of 3.0, and completion of the high school course requirements commonly known as the Regents Scholar curriculum. Guaranteed to all students who qualify, $5000 over four years.
