Silver Cross Ability Achievement Scholarship                      
Deadline:  December 31, 2013
Summary:  Applicants must use a manual or power wheelchair or a mobility scooter.  Applicants must also have completed one full year of study at a college or university with a minimum 3.0 GPA.  Requires essay and application.  Two $3,000 scholarships.

 

 

Panzirer Family Public Safety Scholarship
Deadline:  July 1, 2013
Summary:  Applicants must be sons or daughters of active or former members of law enforcement and must be current or former South Dakota residents.  Applicants must also be in their junior or senior year pursuing a 4-year college degree or in their freshman or sophomore year pursuing a 2-year degree.  Requires ACT scores, transcripts, and application.  One $5000 scholarship.

 

South Dakota Telecommunications Association Scholarship

Deadline:  May 31, 2013
Summary:  Applicants must have completed at least two semesters at a university or technical school in South Dakota and be members/customers or have parents who are members/customers of an SDTA member company.  Requires application, two letters of recommendation, essay, and certification of GPA. 

 

Summary:  To qualify for financial assistance through the Black Hills Special Services Cooperative’s National Farmworker Jobs Program, applicants must have earned wages on a farm or ranch in the last two years (not including the family farm).  Fifty percent of applicants’ income must be earned through farm labor or 50 percent of time must be spent in farm or ranch work.  Dependents of the eligible farm worker are also eligible for assistance.  See application for details.


Spirit of Sioux Falls Scholarship

Deadline: July 1, 2013
Summary: Applicants must live in or maintain residency in Lincoln or Minnehaha County (South Dakota) and be current students majoring in business at a university or technical school.  Requires application, transcript, and two recommendations.  $2,500 scholarship.

 

South Dakota Board of Regents Scholarships

Jump Start Scholarship
Deadline: Sept. 1
Summary: Applicants must be SD residents who graduate high school in 3 years or less. Guaranteed $1771.34 for one year.

South Dakota Opportunity Scholarship

Summary: Applicants must be South Dakota students who attended an eligible higher education institution in South Dakota. Requires composite ACT score of 24 or higher, a cumulative GPA of 3.0, and completion of the high school course requirements commonly known as the Regents Scholar curriculum. Guaranteed to all students who qualify, $5000 over four years.
