SDRA Jerry Wheeler Scholarship Program
Deadline: Postmarked April 17, 2017
Summary: Applicant must enroll full time in a retail-related course of study fall of 2017, have either graduated high school in South Dakota, received GED in South Dakota, or attend college in South Dakota as well as currently completed 24 postsecondary credits. Requires application process, transcripts and two recommendations. 12 scholarships ranging from $500 -$2,250 were awarded in 2016.

Basin Electric/Northern Electric Scholarship
Deadline: June 30, 2017
Summary: Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or lawful resident enrolled in college, or a high school senior accepted to college. Requires creating video PSA uploaded to YouTube, online application and proof of enrollment/acceptance to college. One $500 scholarship per deadline.
Deadline: Feb. 17, 2017
Summary: Applicant must be a dependent of a member-system consumer or employee, 25 or younger and a U.S. citizen. Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time undergraduate program. Requires application, ACT or SAT scores (college freshman only), essay and appraisal. One $1,000 scholarship and one $500 scholarship.
POET Never Satisfied Scholarship

Summary: Applicants must be enrolled for the
fall 2017 semester in any South Dakota post-secondary school. Requires
online application, essay and two letters of recommendation. $5,000
Ampronix College Scholarship
Deadline: May 31, 2017
Summary: Applicants must be a United States
resident, enrolled as an undergraduate student and have performed at least 20
hours of community service in the last year. Requires taking a survey
and photo with essay. Three $1,000 scholarships.
Abrahamson & Uiterwyk Scholarship Essay Contest
Deadline: Jan. 31, 2017
Summary: Applicants must be 18 years or
older, U.S. citizens enrolled in college, or high school
seniors registered in college. Requires essay and application. One
2017 Senior Care Scholarship
Deadline: April 15, 2017
Summary: Applicants must be enrolled in an
associate, bachelor or graduate level program in medical, nursing or
social sciences-related major planning to pursue a career working
with senior citizens. Must be attending classes
at the time of the spring deadline. Requires a signed application and
essay. Five $1,000 scholarships.
Burger King Scholarship

Applicants must have a minimum
cumulative GPA of 2.5, be passionate about serving the community and be a high school senior, Burger King employee, spouse/domestic
partner or child of an employee. Requires creating

NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund Youth Essay Contest
Deadline: Dec. 31, 2016
Summary: Open to high school students, including homeschooled students who have not currently received this scholarship. Requires an application and essay. Top four to be awarded with the top scholarship award totaling $1,000.

Summary: Applicant must be 18 years old and either accepted or currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate program. Requires application and essay. Top three awarded with the top scholarship totaling $2,000.

American Fire Sprinkler Association Scholarship

Summary: Applicants must be high school seniors enrolled at a post-secondary institution for fall of 2017. Home-schooled students whose study is equivalent to a senior in high school are eligible. Requires online application process. Relatives of AFSA staff or NATIONAL board members may not enter. Ten $2,000 scholarships awarded.
Frank Kazmierczak Memorial Migrant Scholarship
Deadline: Feb. 1, 2017
Summary: Applicants must have recent history of migration for agricultural employment, teaching as a career goal, scholastic achievement, and financial need. Requires application, two letters of recommendation, essay, and official transcript. $1,000 scholarship awarded.
South Dakota Board of Regents Scholarships
South Dakota Opportunity Scholarship

Summary: Applicants must be South Dakota students who attended an eligible higher education institution in South Dakota. Requires composite ACT score of 24 or higher, a cumulative GPA of 3.0, and completion of the high school course requirements commonly known as the Regents Scholar curriculum. Guaranteed to all students who qualify, $5000 over four years.
