THE CORNERSTONE SOCIETYWhat is The Cornerstone Society? The Cornerstone Society consists of members who are dedicated individuals and corporate leaders who annually provide $1000 or more of unrestricted support to the Northern State University Foundation. Cornerstone Society members are vital to the continued recruitment of the best and brightest students available. Members of the Society are recognized at the following gift levels:
Why is the Cornerstone Society so Important? NSU receives only 37.5 percent of its resources from the state, and to maintain it's tradition of excellence, the University must depend on private support. Making an annual unrestricted gift allows NSU to place resources where they are needed most. Your unrestricted gift to The Cornerstone Society is the "venture capital" used by the University for various opportunities that directly benefit students. With scholarship dollars the primary goal of the NSU Foundation, The Cornerstone Society funds will be used primarily for student scholarships. Why should I belong to The Cornerstone Society? A major factor influencing a student's decision to attend and remain at Northern is the scholarship assistance received and the quality of the academic programs offered. The unrestricted dollars raised through The Cornerstone Society annual drive will play a crucial role in the recruitment and retention of students, many of whom may not have the financial resources to attend NSU. The strength of The Cornerstone Society lies in the combined gifts from all of its members. The percentage of our alumni and friends who become members of The Cornerstone Society is very important. When a high percentage of our alumni and friends give, this strengthens our case when asking others for support. When those closest to the cause support it, it also shows the confidence of our alumni and friends in the University. How do I become a member of The Cornerstone Society? By making an annual unrestricted gift of $1000 or more you become a member of The Cornerstone Society. For more information please contact the NSU Foundation office at 605-626-2550. |
