​Dr. Francom has a Ph.D in Learning, Design, and Technology from the University of Georgia, a Master's degree in Instructional Technology from Utah State University and a bachelor's degree in Media Arts Studies from Brigham Young University. He teaches courses on educational technology, instructional design, and website design at Northern. Dr. Francom's interests revolve around self-directed learning, task-centered instruction and the ways that technology allows us to transform teaching and learning experiences.

​Mark Zaidel, Ph.D., is professor of educational technologies in the E-learning graduate program. He holds a  master's degree in numerical methods and a  Ph.D. in operation research. His research interests include technology applications in teaching and learning, knowledge discovery, internet technologies, Web and application programming, and business applications of information technologies. Dr. Zaidel teaches a variety of e-learning and technology courses in the areas of multimedia design, software integration, technology support, and computer-supported learning.​
