Rachelle McGruder

Hello! My name is Rachelle McGruder and I’m the 2007 Gypsy Day Chair. Planning Gypsy Days 2007 has been a blast so far, and now that we have selected a theme there is much more fun in store as our planning moves forward. For Gypsy Day’s 2007 we have chosen the theme of “Lions & Tigers & WOLVES Oh My! Follow Us Down The Yellow Brick Road.”

We selected this theme in honor of the children’s book and 1930 film classic “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz,” which was written by one-time Aberdeen resident, Frank L. Baum. We think that the entire community will connect with the theme and we hope everyone takes part in NSU’s celebration.

The Gypsy Day Leadership Team and I have been working hard on old and new activities for this year’s homecoming celebration. I am joined on the leadership team by Tawney Eisenbraun, Cassi Mooney and Tiffany Andersen. Tawney will serve as student chair for the parade on Saturday morning, with Tiffany serving as student chair for Coronation on Thursday night and Cassi heading up the student and campus events during the week.

I would like to thank all of them for their help in planning. Their contributions are helping to insure that this year’s Gypsy Days celebration will be fantastic. Also, I would like to thank Travis Sieber, director of student activities who serves as our advisor, and freshman, Renelle White Buffalo, who designed this year’s logo. She did an outstanding job.

I can’t wait to see you in October!!

Sincerely,

Rachelle McGruder
