The Cricket in Times Square
I remember the feeling I had at the chirping of
the cricket in The Cricket in Times Square. Didn't the child of the
story keep the cricket in a match box? I seem to see a small piece
of fabric lining the match box.
I was so impressed as a child that, perhaps 25 years
after I read the book, I found and purchased a cricket cage. It has
never held a cricket and I don't believe they are good luck, but I feel
a memory of the good fortune of the young person of the story(whether accurate
memory or not) while the cricket was in his possession.
