Portrayal of the Indian in Scieszka's The Good, the Bad, and
the Goofy (2)
The Good, the Bad, and the Goofy teaches children a new outlook
on American Indians. They are shown that not all Indians are bad,
yet there are exceptions. They are shown that Indians are smart and
often know exciting things such as the stars. In history classes
we were taught about the fights (wars) with the Indians but we were never
taught about the good in
Indians.
