Wilbur's Maturation in Charlotte's Web

When [Wilbur] goes from living with Fern to living at the farm, you see him grow up a lot with the help of Charlotte.  It was Charlotte that helped him to grow up to be the best he can and to deal with things that come his way.  At the farm he goes from a pig that wants to run away to a pig that is smart enough to know he is better off where is rather than on his own.  At the fair, you see him looking most grown up when he decides to take care of Charlotte's children after she dies, taking them with him rather than letting them grow up in an unfamiliar place all by themselves.  I think that in the end Wilbur really takes over the role of Charlotte, of being the adult, when he decides to help out Charlotte's children like she helped him grow up.
