Changing an expired password through Outlook Web Access (OWA)

When you first log in, you will see a screen that looks like this:

After typing your username and password you will get directed to the change password page.

You should now go to a screen that looks like this:


You new password must be at least eight (8) characters long and must contain at least one character from three of the following categories:

            English uppercase Characters (A through Z)

            English lower Case Characters (a through z)

            Base-10 digits (0 through 9)

            Non-alphanumeric (e.g. !, $, #, %)

The password cannot contain the username or be one of the previous 2 passwords.

Click ok, once you have changed your password, you will see another screen telling you that you have successfully changed your password. You will also see a link that will take you back to the login area. Click this link and now logon with you username and new password.

Changing an un-expired password through OWA

  • Login to Outlook Web Access by logging into your account.
  • If a security alert is displayed click OK, you may then be prompted to accept the security certificate, to proceed click Yes.
  • In the User Name text box type NSU\ Email Login ID (username).
  • In the Password box type in your current email password.
  • As a security precaution do NOT check the box next to Save this password…
  • Select the Options Icon from the side bar of the Outlook Web Access Window.
    • Click Change Password.
    • Enter your Login ID.
    • Enter your current password once, then enter your new password twice to confirm that it was entered correctly.
    • Click OK.
    • Click on the close button in the dialog box that says "Password successfully changed".
    • Close the Options dialog box

Changing your password (Faculty and Staff)

  1. If your password is expired you will be prompted to change your password.
  2. If your password has not yet expired, you can change your password by pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL and selecting Change Password.
  3. Enter NSU as the domain and your username in the account.
  4. Enter your old password and a new password and click OK.
