Symantec AntiVirus Software is installed on every computer on campus. The software is managed by a Symantec server that actually "forces" up-to-date virus definition files. This ensures that the software catches even the most recent viruses infecting computers.
To make sure your Symantec Antivirus software is protecting your computer:
1. Double-click the gold shield on the bottom, right corner of your computer screen.
2. The Virus Definition File should be recent (last day or two).
3. If the definition file date is several weeks or more old, please update the virus definition files as described below or contact the NSU Help Desk immediately at 626.2283.
- Below the Virus Definition File, click the Live Update button.
- Proceed through the update by clicking Next and then Finish.
- If you receive an error, contact the Help Des.
