POP-UP BLOCKING SOFTWARE
 

Many programs are available that will help users control the amount of pop-ups they receive while perusing the Internet. While these pop-up blockers are very beneficial, they do prevent several Desire2Learn tools from being displayed. The tools in Desire2Learn that are considered pop-ups are the quiz tool, the discussion board, and e-mail.

If you are having trouble with one of these tools, please read the following information. This is not a comprehensive list and there are many available pop-up blocking software available. For assistance with those not listed, contact the software manufacturer or the NSU Help Desk at 626-2283.


  1. Windows XP with Service Pack 2
    • How do I know if I have this service pack? Right-click over the "My Computer" icon and select "Properties" from the list. On the following screen you will see which service pack you have installed. You may also see a toolbar under the browser address bar similar to the one below.

    • How do I disable the pop-up blocker for service pack 2? To disable the pop-up blocker for a particular domain, go to your browser and select "Tools" and then "Internet Options". On the window, select the "Privacy" tab. Select the "settings" button at the bottom and add the domain of the Desire2Learn server. The domain to add is http://d2l.sdbor.edu.
    • How to I completely disable the pop-up blocker? On the same privacy tab noted above, deselect the "block pop-ups" checkbox at the bottom.

    1. How do I allow pop-ups from Desire2Learn? Go to the Desire2Learn page at http://d2l.sdbor.edu and click the pop-up blocker button to add the Desire2Learn site.
