At NSU, all computers have SAV installed on them. It is your responsibility to ensure that your SAV is working properly. We recommend that you have an anti-virus program on your home computer as well.

Definition Files

1. Double-click the gold shield located in the lower-right corner of your screen.
2. Ensure that your Virus Definition File date is current (not older than 1-2 days).

3. If it is not, click the LiveUpdate button and proceed with updating your definition files.

Scanning your computer

1. It is recommended that you do a scan periodically or if you are experiencing problems with your computer
2. Click the "Full Scan" option on the left pane and then click Scan on the right pane.
3. You should also scan each floppy disk prior to opening it.
4. Put the floppy disk in your computer and click the "Scan a floppy disk" option on the left and then click Scan on the right pane.
