GRADUATE PROGRAM


The HPE department offers a Master of Science in Education, Teaching and Learning Emphasis in Health, Physical Education and Coaching. With a focus on both teaching and coaching, the 2-year HPE graduate program provides educators and coaches with the background knowledge to assume leadership positions in their fields. Students will examine sport, health, and physical education issues from many perspectives, including the pedagogical, social, psychological, physiological, anatomical, and biomechanical. Prospective graduate students may apply for a graduate assistantship, which provides a stipend as well as practical experience within the Athletic Department (e.g., coaching, development) and/or the Health and Physical Education Department (e.g., teaching wellness lab or weightlifting).
