Me by the ocean, what you can
not see is that while posing for this pic a fair portion of the back of
my body got fairly drenched. :) You would think with all the time I have
spent by oceans I would learn not to turn my back on it. :) After getting
half drenched and walking along the water I got a bottle of OJ on my way
to dinner. The man at the store told me I was luck not to have been hit
by some thing in the waves.

This coast is known for it's
waves and how high they "jump".

View of old town through the
waves
|
|
These waves are normally this
way and the locals warn kids to keep a safe distance. They are not only
worried about getting swept away but also being hit by things that are
tossed around. The next morning I walked along the road during low tide
towards the old town. I saw a dead fish, must have been tossed up by the
waves last night during high tide. This fish was at someone's door step
on the other side of the street.
|
|
These waves do reach the street
and often hit the buildings on the other side of the street.

The island has a fortress on
it, the national fortress if I am not mistaken.
