September 28, 2000

Pictures sent the Sept. 28th.

I do need to find a place to stay while I am here.  But I think this one is too small and a little older than what I am looking for.

Etienne took me to an Archeological site.  Here the people are in the dress and doing things from the time period.

He is trying to convince me that this place would be good for me.  Wide open spaces, farm animals, a near by lake, and the only problem is the traveling distance to get to work.

Still looking for a place to stay.  This is Chatoue Beloei.  Maybe a little big for just me.  Found out at a later date that Beloei is closed for the winter, pics will continue in the spring.

I like this place, might just have to deal with the distance to work being really long.

I would have a huge garden, a moat with fish, and a court yard! Talk about a deal.

Back to my fascination with anything that lives in the water.

I could probably charge people to go fishing to help pay my bills, but then I would probably have to restock the moat with fish too.

Still looking for a place to stay.  This seems like a nice street. :) Brugge is known for Belgian lace.  On sunny days, this one is not, you can see ladies making the lace by hand.

We are in Brugge.  One architectural style that is popular and very common in Brugge are the roofs that are done like stairs going up one side and down the other.

This is appears on many town halls.  I believe it is St. Michael conquering the devil.

We saw this on one of the buildings in a housing area.  I think it is very nicely done.

I remember seeing white ones a lot when we lived in Hawaii.  In Hawaii we learned that the bottom half of the flower grows by the sea and the top half grows in the Mountains.  The story says that there were two lovers and for whatever reason (I don't remember that part) they could not be together.  One of them lived by the sea and the other in the Mountain, which is why the flower grows in halves, representing the separated lovers.

This is a closer look at the stair like roofs that I was talking about.  As tempting as the houses here are I just don't know about all the yellow ones I have seen here.  I like yellow but I am not sure I want my house to match my hair.
