The first pictures are of an arch leading into the New Zealand Airport. Then we have a few from Mission Bay, where Janne completed her first tests; there's one of Joanna and one of the two of them cleaning up. Then we have quite a few showing the underground water museum that showed some stuff about Antarctic exploration and they had a really cool aquarium that we could walk through via a hollow plastic tube, like in Omaha. Then, we went to Aukland Domain Museum. There are few more shots there, but not as many. I know for sure there's one of Aunt Joanna standing in front of a fake marine wall, which was pretty cool...

Joanna and Janne get some advice from some native Auklanders before loading the plane.
Janne discusses her salinity experiment with Jo. The test will determine if the North Island sea water is saltier than that in the South Island.
Quantas Air. Check the nifty tail!
Isn't it just so cute?
We've landed!

Joanna and Janne cleaning up. the experiment used some yellow compound and silver nitrate (?), and the combination of the two could cause an ugly stain on skin and clothing.
Kelly Tarlton's Antarctic Display.
hehehe... I got play on a snow mobile...
Jo gets up close and personal with some Emperor penguins inside the Bobcat ride. It took us around the seal display and flags of the Antarctic countries. The machine sat six people on this trip, but had a capacity of nine.
Ain't he just adorable?
Joanna watches a shark while at the underwater aquarium viewing area.
That's one HUGE stingray!
Janne's always been fascinated by sharks.
She just can't seem to get enough of them!
...Really!
Lunchtime! at Kelly's Cafe. Joanna shows of her bowl of kumera salad.
"What's that?" you ask?
Kumera is a sort of sweet potato found in New Zealand, and it's really quite tasty when cold. It's not too bad warm either.
At the Aukland Domain Museum, Joanna poses with a native Maori house.
Ooo! Check the fake marine wall! Very authentic looking!
Jo orders a sarsaparilla from the saloon at the model town of Aukland (1890's - 1910's) There was also a printing shop, motel, chemists and general store.
