This is Shilpa at the Tawharanui Peninsula.  The end of the peninsula is a reserve/park.

This is the peninsula where part of my research will take place.

This is a view as you drive out towards the reserve at the end of the peninsula.

We took a short hike through part of the reserve/park.

Along the road going out the peninsula; this shot looks at the reserve form a hill top.

New Zealand is known for its sheep.  Along the road we could see a hill side more or less covered with sheep.

Zoom in.  It was interesting because they were all moving in one direction...guess what they say about following like sheep is true. :)

Driving form the peninsula inland this was the site that greeted us.  It leads to the other part of the peninsula.

This was on the other side of the road; looks more inland.

This is the rest of the view from above.  We saw this out the left (south, I think) side of the car.  This was on the right of the picture above.

This was the largest house that we saw in the area.  It is still being built so it will be neat to see where it is at while I am working on my project.

A quick flash out the window as we are driving back to Auckland.  Don't panic Shilpa took the picture while I was driving! :)

This one we pulled over for, it is also between Auckland and Leigh (Warkworth to be more specific).

Stopped to stretch our legs at Owera beach...just for fun.  Thought these were nice; grew right along the sand of the beach.

Shilpa on the beach!  Behind her is the north side of the bay; leading towards Leigh.

Me on the beach!  Behind me is the south side of the bay; leading towards Auckland.  I think that technically the houses are part of Owera.

Found a fruit called a Tamirillo.  They were on sale rather cheap on the Tawharanui Peninsula out towards Owera beach.

They are the about the same size and shape of a fejoa (fejoa's are green outside too).  These taste more sour tangy then a fejoa.
