We have now entered Mordor.

  Mt. Doom can be seen in the distance.

  This was one of the few signs we found at any of the Lord of the Rings places.  It tells a bit about the filming done here.

  That is the wall where Golum climbed down on to Frodo and Sam.  Then Golum agreed to be their guide.

  We climbed up part way up on one side of the cliff and this is a view of Mt. Doom (known locally as Mt. Ngauruhoe).

  There was a waterfall farther up the mountain side.
