These sand dunes are 100s of feet tall.

This is Tane Mahuta, a 2000 year old Kauri tree.  It is in the Waipoua Kauri Forest Reserve.  These native trees were used to make wakas.  It is the largest Kauri still standing.  Tane is the life giver and created all life on Earth.  This tree is 51.5 meters tall and the girth of the trunk is 13.8 meters.

Corey and I at the base of Tane Mahuta.

  Zooming in on Kauri leaves.

  Wondering around the reserve. :)
