The Archives at Williams Library houses many different collections. The subjects and content vary, but most have a South Dakota connection. In our large book collection are books relating to South Dakota history, American Indian history, local and regional history, and of course the history of Northern State University. We also have a collection of books by South Dakota authors, including fiction and nonfiction, as well as a small collection of rare books.
Our digital library contains scans and images of selected items in our collections. Although at present they represent only small pieces of the complete collections, the digital collections offer a general overview of the kinds of items that can be found in the physical collection. These online collections will grow over time as additional materials are digitized.
