Introduction
& Use Guidelines
This Tutorial
is a self-paced instructional resource designed to assist Northern State
University students master information literacy skills. The Pre-Test
will help you assess your knowledge before you begin the Tutorial.
The Lessons provide detailed instruction and are the core of the
Tutorial.
To take full advantage of the Tutorial you should read each lesson
before you attempt to take the quizzes, do the assignments or the database
exercises. There is a Quiz for each lesson which allows you to test
your understanding of the information presented.
In order to take the quizzes you
must be using either Netscape Communicator 4.0 or higher, or Internet Explorer
4.0 or higher. To check the version of your browser go to the "Help" option
on the menu bar and select either "About Netscape," "About Communicator,"
or "About Internet Explorer." If you are using a browser below 4.0 you
will need to download and install a new version. You can download a new
version of Netscape for free by going to the
Netscape

To read the assignments and handouts
your browser must have Adobe Acrobat Reader as a plug-in. To find out if
you have the Acrobat Reader plug-in simply click on any of these documents.
If you have the plug-in the document will appear in your Web browser. If
you don't have the plug-in it won't work. To get the plug-in go to
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readermain.html
and download the software. Once you download the software you will need
to install it before you can view the documents. |
