Ric Dias, Associate Professor
(B.A., Sonoma State University; M.A., Ph.D., University of California,
Riverside)
The history department's newest faculty member, Dr. Dias is a specialist
in 20th century American history, concentrating primarily on the history
of the American West. He has completed a manuscript on the rise and fall
of the Kaiser Steel Corporation, which is being reviewed for publication.
Dr. Dias is the advisor to NSU
Student Ambassadors and co-advisor of the NSU History
Club. He received Northern's Outstanding Faculty Member award
in 1998. He also received the 1998 Williams Library Faculty/Student
Research Award and was named Advisor of the Year in 1998 and 2000.
Dr. Dias has been teaching at Northern since 1995. Check out Dr.
