Lesson Summary: |
Students will gain an understanding of the game of soccer. Included will be the laws of the game and the fundamental techniques used to participate. During class, students will participate in various training exercises to help create a model of understanding of each fundamental technique. |

South Dakota Physical Education Standard One: Students will develop competency in all fundamental movement skills and proficiency in some movement forms. South Dakota Physical Education Standard Two: Students will analyze scientific concepts and principles to understand, evaluate, and enhance movement skill acquisition and performance. South Dakota Physical Education Standard Three: Students will participate in physical activity to achieve and maintain a health enhancing level of physical fitness. Students will: 1) understand the concepts of the game of soccer. 2) understand the laws of the game. 3) be able to demonstrate proper technique for each individual skill used in the game of soccer. (Passing, Shooting, Dribbling, Heading, Trapping and Defending). 4) be able to participate productively in an actual game of soccer. |
