Northern State University to Host Senator Tom Daschle
Released September 3, 2008
(ABERDEEN, SD) Northern State University Interim President,
Laurie Stenberg Nichols, is pleased to announce Northern State will
host Senator Tom Daschle on Sun, Sept. 21, 2008.
Senator Daschle will be speaking at 7 p.m. at the Johnson Fine Arts
Center. The speech is open to the public and will focus on
health-care reform and Senator Daschle’s new book, “Critical: What
We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis.”
In his speech, Daschle tackles why there is a break down in our
health-care system and how, given his understanding of Washington,
its politics and what makes it tick, it can be fixed. Senator
Daschle offers a pragmatic paradigm for health care reform, modeled
on the Federal Reserve System.
“We are honored to welcome Senator Daschle back to his hometown of
Aberdeen,” said Nichols. “I invite the entire community to greet
Senator Daschle and hear his compelling talk about health care
reform.”
