“RecycleMania” Sweeping the Country

Join the college and university recycling competition that’s sweeping the nation!

Released January 18, 2008

(Aberdeen, S.D.) Northern State University has joined a national recycling program called “RecycleMania.” This involves friendly competition among colleges and universities across the United State. During Spring Semester we compete to collect the largest amount of recyclables per capita, largest total amount, least amount of trash and highest recycling rate. The program creates awareness and excitement about waste recycling and reduction. It also increases awareness that everyone on campus can play a role in helping the campus become more environmentally responsible. Shortly, posters, signage and other educational resources and information will start appearing on campus. Northern State University has been involved in recycling activities for a number of years, so this is a great opportunity for students to learn more, be involved more, and gain more local and national recognition for participation. For more information about RecycleMania, contact the Student Affairs Office in the NSU Student Center at 626-2530. Become a Maniac!
