NSU Appoints Chief Information Technology Officer

Debbi Bumpous(ABERDEEN, SD) Northern State University has appointed Debbi Bumpous as the new Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the university following a national search. Bumpous replaces Erika Tallman who retired from NSU in 2007.

As CIO, Bumpous will oversee all NET (Northern Educational Technology) Services staff to support the LAN, Internet access, wireless infrastructure, E-learning technologies and all information and instructional technology hardware and software on campus. She will also lead IT strategic planning and working with NET Services staff and Board of Regents IT personnel to develop IT policies and procedures. Prior to her appointment, she served as the Technology Help Desk Manager.

Bumpous holds a M.S. in E-learning technology and administration, a B.S. in administrative systems, and a B.S. secondary education all from NSU. She lives in Aberdeen with her husband Jeff, and two sons, Zack (11) and Brandon (10).
