Released August 21, 2008
(ABERDEEN, SD)
Standing on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, waiting for
the bell to ring, was part of an enriching experience for five
business students from Northern State University. The students, Zach
Dosch, Aberdeen, Kristi Dulitz, Webster, Tyhe Mischke, Florence,
Kevin Nelson, Aberdeen, and Erick Rub, Norfolk, Neb., participated
in a traveling classroom tour this August. The trip, which is
alternately hosted in Toronto, Canada, gave students a chance to
learn firsthand about different financial entities.
“Out-of-classroom activities like the NYSE tour fulfill one of the
many goals of both the School of Business and the Center of
Excellence in International Business,” said Dr. John E. Peterson,
advisor who accompanied the group on the trip. “Opportunities like
this trip link students and the theories that they have learned in
the classroom with real business practices.”
