NSU Holds 15th Annual South Dakota International Business Conference in Rapid City

(ABERDEEN, SD)
The Northern State University Center of Excellence in International
Business (CEIB) will host the 15th Annual International Business
Conference on Oct. 9-11, at the Radisson Hotel Rapid City/Mt.
Rushmore. Sponsors for this event are the Chiesman Foundation for
Democracy, Northern Plains International, Inc., U.S. Bank and Wells
Fargo.
The conference, which will feature 55 academic lecturers,
representing 20 countries, will begin on Thu, Oct. 9, with a
kick-off dinner and presentations on a variety of topics. The dinner
will continue with featured speaker Dr. David Gillingham, founder of
the Network of International Business Schools, and Dean of Faculty
at Kaplan Holburn College in the United Kingdom.
The keynote dinner, held in the Buffalo Dining Room at the Mt.
Rushmore National Memorial, will begin with a reception sponsored by
the Northern State University Foundation on Fri, Oct. 10, from
6-6:30 p.m. Immediately following the reception, featured keynote
speaker, Dr. John Mitchell, will speak at 7:15 p.m.. Mitchell is the
former chief economist of US Bank and has several regional
publications including “The Economic Update,” “The Business
Barometer,” “U.S. Territory,” “Sterling Bank’s Economic Report,”
“Oregon Tidbits” and “Oregon Business Magazine.”
On Sat, Oct. 11, the conference will hold paper presentations in the
morning. The conference will conclude with a cultural tour of Crazy
Horse Memorial and an evening of entertainment at the Chuckwagon
dinner performance.
