ABERDEEN, S.D. – Beth Davis of Dakota Resources, a statewide economic development organization, will speak at the March Business Connections event at Northern State University.
The presentation by Davis, titled “Dakota Rising and Lessons Learned from South Dakotan Entrepreneurs,” will be 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 18. The free, public event will be held in the NSU Student Center Centennial rooms.
Davis is president of Dakota Resources
, a nonprofit that stimulates financial and human investment in South Dakota communities that are invested in themselves. In her 15 years with the organization, Davis has raised more than $12 million in private capital. She has also attracted resources to develop innovative products and services to support rural development, including Dakota Rising, an entrepreneur development system.
Davis was previously a partner in Midwest Mediation and Facilitation Inc., a conflict resolution firm specializing in business and environmental disputes. She served as interim director for the Entrepreneur Network for Women and coordinator for the Center for Enterprise Facilitation. Davis also directed a statewide community health education nonprofit organization and started several private business enterprises.
