ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University’s Williams Library is hosting a free, hands-on disaster response recovery workshop on Aug. 12.
Staff and volunteers from all area museums, libraries, archives and other collecting institutions are invited to register for the workshops, sponsored by the Dakota Collections Care Initiative.
The workshops are an opportunity to learn about various disaster scenarios, and allow participants to participate in several disaster drills. The focus will be on response, recovery and salvage techniques within the first 24 to 48 hours of a disaster. Registration is required online at http://dcciworkshops2013.eventbrite.com/

Twenty travel stipends of up to $100 each are available for lodging and mileage reimbursement. The stipends are available on a first-come, first-served basis and may be requested through the online registration process.
